Breakpoint Church History
On October 14th, 2001, Grace Church On the Mount began it’s vision of church planting by voting unanimously to hire Bart and Maryanne Young as church planters. For the first time at Grace, a unanimous vote was given to a new staff member. The board of Elders approved the Thanksgiving and Christmas offerings for the new church plant.
In January of 2002 the church is named Breakpoint Community Church and people interested in church planting begin meeting on Sunday nights. On Easter Sunday, March 31, 2002 Breakpoint church holds its first official service at the 7th Day Adventist Church in Hackettstown. The church also opened offices at 199 Main St. in Hackettstown.
In May of 2004 the church voted unanimously to lease space at 55 Newburgh Rd. After much hard work and completely renovating the space, the first service in the new building is held on November 14th 2004. In 2007 we hired our first Next Generation Pastor, Drew Toucher and his wife Julie. In July of 2009 we began negotiations with the International Foursquare Church and are currently lease/purchasing a building at 493 Rt 46 E in Hackettstown.
Our first service was held at the new location on Nov 29, 2009. At Breakpoint Church we have seen many new ministries started and a great support of missions both local and foreign in the first eight years. God has truly blessed Breakpoint Church in a short amount of time.
