DEL RIO, TEXAS & ACUNA, MEXICO
In April 2023, Breakpoint Church partnered with Young Living Stones Ministries to serve in their Del Rio, TX, immigration processing center, and to show the love of Jesus to all those impacted by the humanitarian immigrant crisis. We ministered to the border patrol agents by throwing them a barbecue to lift their spirits, and also served at a Christian school on the Mexican side of the border, teaching the local residents about the love of Jesus.
In April 2024, we made a trip to Acuna, Mexico, to serve in the Legado de Corezon homeless shelter. We cleaned and painted, planted a garden, made some building and roof repairs, provided new cots and blankets for the residents, ministered to residents through meals and basic healthcare, and showed them the love of Jesus in tangible ways. Church members even "adopted" residents to buy them new clothing to send down to the shelter, giving Breakpoint members who couldn't travel to Acuna a way to be actively involved in this ministry. This was a huge undertaking that would not have been possible without the Lord's help and blessing on our efforts.
In April 2025, we returned to Del Rio and had the opportunity to once again serve the border patrol agents by cooking them a great meal and sharing conversation and prayer with them. We also continued our work at the Legado de Corezon shelter in Acuna, partnering with our friends from Morningstar Baptist Church to install a hot water heater for the kitchen, build benches for the residents, install sinks and a water heater, and work on some wiring projects as well. We prepared and served meals to the residents of Legado, led Bible classes and craft times. It was a blessing to continue building relationships with the residents and see the progress that has been made in their living conditions.
