The humanitarian crisis at the US-Mexico border has put the lives of thousands of people immigrating to this country at risk. These immigrants are in need of basic food and hygiene supplies, medical items, and assistance getting to their final destination in the US. Our proposal for the Spring of 2023 is for Breakpoint Church to partner with Young Living Stones Ministries for one week to serve in their Del Rio, TX immigration processing center, and to show the love of Jesus to all those impacted by this crisis. We will also be ministering to the boarder patrol agents by throwing them a barbeque to lift their spirits. Finally, we will be serving at a Christian School on the Mexican side of the boarder, teaching the local residents about the love of Jesus.
All members of our church are invited to attend. HS Students may attended with a parent or adult. Each missionary will be responsible for the cost and booking their own travel accommodations from New Jersey to Del Rio, TX. The missionaries will be staying in the local mission house in their bunk style accommodations. The mission house includes full shower facilities and a full kitchen for our use. We will be preparing some of our own meals in the kitchen facilities, and enjoying dinner out at local restaurants. There is an expected cost of $200 per person for lodging arrangements and kitchen food supplies. The missionaries will be responsible for their cost of dining out.
On Tuesday morning April 11th, we will fly from Newark, NJ to Del Rio, TX. When we arrive we will be transported by the Young Ministries to the mission site. During the week, Breakpoint will serve in the processing center, barbeque for the border patrol agents, and visit the school in Mexico. A valid passport or birth certificate is required for travel to Mexico. We will be attending Sunday service with Young Living Stones Ministries. On Tuesday afternoon April 18th, we will fly back to New Jersey.
Scholarships are available for those who need assistance with the financial cost of the trip.
