Louisiana Mission Trip 2022
During our mission trip to Vinton, Louisiana last year, Breakpoint Church formed a strong fellowship with the members of Morning Star Baptist Church and their community, and we are excited about our next collaboration. Our proposal for the Summer of 2022 is for Breakpoint to partner again with Morning Star for one week to produce a Vacation Bible School for their youth. We will also be distributing school supplies to the children and distributing food to the community.
All members of our church are invited to attend. High school students may attend without a parent or adult. Younger children should be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Each missionary will be responsible for the cost and booking their own travel and lodging. The expected cost for each person is between $700 and $900, depending on individual travel and lodging arrangements. Some meals may be provided, but generally the cost of meals will also be the responsibility of the missionaries.
On Saturday morning July 23rd, we will fly to Houston, TX and then drive rental cars to Vinton, LA that afternoon. Lodging will be at the Cobblestone Inn & Suites in Vinton. Breakpoint will have a block of rooms reserved. We will attend Sunday service at Morning Star. During the week, Breakpoint will facilitate the Vacation Bible School in the evenings. On Saturday morning July 30th, we will drive back to Houston, and fly back to New Jersey that evening. The following is a cost estimate for the travel and lodging. Prices are as of 2/11/22 on Expedia. The cost of flights is expected to increase, so it is recommended to book the flights as early as possible. Missionaries may also want to share a hotel room to share the cost.
